The Gender Equality Plan is an instrument of university development and at the same time a part of personnel policy. It is therefore regularly integrated into the university's development and strategic planning.
According to Sections 15 and 16 of the Lower Saxony Equal Opportunities Act (NGG) of 09.12.2010, every department with at least 50 employees must draw up an equality plan. The deadline for the initial preparation was 31.12.2011. The equality plan is valid for 3 years; a new plan must be prepared at the end of this period. In accordance with Section 41 of the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG), the Executive Board and Senate approve the equality plan. This means that three equality plans (2010 to 2012, 2013 to 2015, 2016 to 2018, 2019 to 2021, 2022 to 2024) have already been adopted at Clausthal University of Technology. The current Gender Equality Plan is the sixth update and covers the period from 2025 to 2027.
