It's worth taking part!
Are you interested in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology, but don't yet have a concrete idea of what you want to study? Then the Niedersachsen-Technikum is just right for you! The Technikum is a preparatory program (preparatory course) for a technical or scientific course of study. Immediately after graduating from high school, you will spend six months experiencing and testing out studying at Clausthal University of Technology and working as an engineer, computer scientist or natural scientist in one of our partner companies.
The advantages of the Niedersachen Technikum at a glance:
- You complete a six-month (paid) work placement, including project work, in a partner company. You may have already completed the compulsory internship for technical degree courses.
- You will attend regular first semester courses at Clausthal University of Technology one day a week and also take part in laboratory tours, workshops and discussions with female students and engineers.
- You can take exams for the courses you attend. If you pass, this is your first "certificate".
- At the end, you will present your project at a final event with company representatives, TU Clausthal lecturers, parents and friends.
Invitation to tender for the award of a housing subsidy to participants of the Lower Saxony Technology Center
The Niedersachsen-Technikum is a successfully tested concept for practice-integrated career guidance for young women with a high school diploma or vocational diploma. It is aimed at female school leavers who have a broad range of interests and are open to mathematical, scientific or technical aspects in their future studies or career, but who are not yet able to commit to a specific course of study or training.
During a 6-month practical phase in a partner company, the participants get to know different departments, come into contact with students and engineers and work on their own project tasks. At the same time, they take part in courses or internships in the first semester at a university one day a week.
For the 2024/25 cycle of the Lower Saxony Technical Center, Clausthal University of Technology is offering a housing grant for up to three participants of the Lower Saxony Technical Center. The purpose of the grant is to ensure uniform access to the "Niedersachsen-Technikum" program for interested participants. The aim is to prevent participants in the Niedersachsen-Technikum from experiencing an unacceptable financial burden due to the distance of their place of residence and the possible associated relocation and possibly not being able to participate in the program for this reason. The object of the funding is therefore the renting of accommodation in Clausthal-Zellerfeld or at the location of the internship company.
The scholarship includes financial support of 150 euros per month. It is granted for the six-month period of the Niedersachsen Technikum from 01.09.2024.
Female (technical) high school graduates who commit to participating in the Niedersachsen-Technikum at Clausthal University of Technology for six months are eligible to apply. Funding is only granted upon application(form). The application must be accompanied by
- Certificate of university entrance qualification,
- Proof of internship as part of the Niedersachsen-Technikum (internship contract),
- extended registration certificate,
- Proof of rented accommodation in Clausthal-Zellerfeld or at the location of the internship company.
A selection committee will select the grant recipients on the basis of the documents submitted.
The grant is independent of income. The applicant is not entitled to receive the grant; rather, TU Clausthal decides on the basis of its dutiful discretion within the framework of the available budget funds according to the order in which applications are received.
The basis is the guideline for awarding a housing grant to participants of the Lower Saxony Technical Center dated 31.08.2021.
Please send the application by e-mail to the coordinator of the Lower Saxony Technical Center at Clausthal University of Technology: niedersachsen-technikum@tu-clausthal.de.
The application deadline is September 01, 2024.
