Family service

  • In August 2019, a TU-wide survey was conducted on the subject of childcare services. As part of this survey, it was determined that there is a need for additional childcare, particularly in the area of U3 care and afternoon care for schoolchildren. In cooperation with the Studentenwerk OstNiedersachsen, childcare services at Clausthal University of Technology will now be expanded. We will report regularly on developments.
  • The parent-child breakfast, which was established in Clausthal-Zellerfeld at the beginning of 2019, is very popular. The district of Goslar, the Studentenwerk OstNiedersachsen and Clausthal University of Technology are satisfied with the acceptance of the offer and have decided to continue the project in 2020. Around 10 families now regularly take part in this offer.
  • Clausthal University of Technology and the mountain and university town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld have signed a cooperation agreement for vacation childcare. As part of this cooperation, childcare for school children between the ages of 6 and 10 will be provided for the first time during the Easter vacations from March 30 to April 3, 2020 (first week of the Easter holidays) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This childcare offer was created as a result of the survey conducted in August 2019. Our students and employees with children reported a need for additional childcare during the Easter and fall vacations. Due to the COVID-19 situation, we unfortunately had to cancel the childcare offer for the Easter vacations (Kinder-Oster-Uni).
