Flexible working

Part-time

In principle, it is possible to reduce your weekly working hours, e.g. as part of parental leave. Please seek advice on this from the HR department, the Staff Council or the Family Service Center.

Flexible working hours

Working hours at Clausthal University of Technology are regulated by a flexitime model. Since January 2017, TU Clausthal has had the Working time service agreement. This service agreement meets the needs of families and allows more flexibility. Another option is to set up working time accounts, which is regulated in the service agreement on the Establishment of working time accounts is regulated. Working time accounts are important tools for making working hours more flexible.

At Clausthal University of Technology, you have the opportunity to do some of your work from home. The following options are available at TU Clausthal:

Mobile working

The service agreement on mobile working has been in force since October 1, 2021. Mobile working means that the employee does not have a permanently set up workplace, but performs the work independently of location - at the company, at home or at any other location. The aim of the new service agreement on mobile working is to create modern and future-oriented forms of work at Clausthal University of Technology as part of personnel and organizational development, to promote the compatibility of family and career, to increase job satisfaction and to increase employee motivation.

Everything else and all documents can be found in the Service agreement on remote working at Clausthal University of Technology.

Alternating teleworking

Alternating teleworking means that employees perform their individual working hours partly at home (home workplace) and partly at the office (company workplace). Teleworkers are supported by devices and equipment for decentralized information processing or communication technology. The home workplace is connected online to the office.

The target group are employees from the administration, the faculties and the central facilities who can claim social or organizational reasons.

In the TU Clausthal administration handbook you will find the Service agreement on alternating teleworking.
